Dive into a site that will enliven all your senses. The engaging, optimised platform we built for Crucial Trading is intended to inspire and delight visitors. From its soft, sophisticated colour pallet to its crisp, refined images, it is a perfect reflection of the brand ethos that Crucial has cultivated.
From the first outlines to the finished product, we worked to forge a fully featured website for Crucial Trading that is charmingly retro and mechanically contemporary.
At the start of every project, we ask why we are embarking on this journey. In the case of Crucial Trading, the watchwords were innovation and modernism.
With a vast variety of materials available to choose across its customisable offerings, we wanted to make each product category stand out and yet retain a consistent aesthetic.
Crucial’s customers have the opportunity to personalise the rugs they order, so our site design included a straightforward way to realise this aim without looking cluttered or confusing.
Rug Builder App
Our efforts to update the site included the creation of an app that lets visitors construct their own rugs in a virtual environment powered by their web browser. With full 3D modelling capabilities, this solution helps bring the bricks and mortar rug-buying experience to life on a digital platform.
Retail Partner Page
With a network of local outlets in many parts of the world supplying products from Crucial Trading, we designed a page to showcase these partners on the firm’s central site.
The information is displayed via a map, with users able to check out information on each retailer, get directions and change the way details are displayed according to their preferences and device type. This combination of form and function is an important aspect of the entire Crucial Trading project.
Delightful Mobile Experience
We understand the importance of adapting sites to work on all platforms, especially in the age of mobile device dominance. This remains at the core of the work KIJO does for its clients.
The effort and expertise we put into developing the Crucial Trading site was recognised as part of the Drum Design Awards 2017. It ranked as a finalist in the web design category, sitting alongside high profile competitors including PwC and the FT.
