As of 2023, 71% of businesses have a website. Therefore, it’s nearly impossible to compete in your market without one and that’s definitely the case for hotels. Every hotelier knows that they must first and foremost provide comfortable, relaxing and highly-rated stays. Because of this, the hotel website design has to convince the user of that – even more so if the hotel is in the luxury, five-star sector.
At KIJO, we’ve worked with prestigious hotels to build brilliant, engaging yet informative hospitality websites that operate functionally and effortlessly. Our website design team knows what it takes to build a hotel website that is user-focused, welcoming and easy-to-use, whilst painting an honest and attractive picture of the tempting stay on offer. Our designs focus on the guest experience and have also included integrated booking systems so users can book directly with ease.
So, take a look at our top 5 hotel website design examples. See how their website designs engross you immediately, and make you want to book and stay with them!
A hotel needs a website for several important reasons:
The best hotel websites will do a number of key things:
A good hotel website design will display key and comprehensive information that users will need in easy-to-see and find onsite locations. For example, details about the hotel, its brand and history, room descriptions, amenities, services, location, contact details, booking information and local attractions.
Your hotel should display high-resolution images of rooms, amenities, and the hotel environment. Virtual tours and videos help further showcase the hotel. According to Forbes, if a website contains a video, the time-on-page can increase by 88%. Not only is this great for your search engine optimisation, but for converting users to guests.
An easy-to-use, functional booking system with real-time availability, pricing, and special offers is not only key to capture and convert users into guests, but also to bolster customer service and experience. The designers of your hotel web design can implement this for you!
Displaying positive guest feedback on your website builds trust for potential new guests, but also helps instigate a bit of “FOMO” (fear of missing out!). By also showing users how to find your hotel on social media platforms and your social media feed displays, this can help drive that important desire to experience your hotel for themselves too.
We asked KIJO’s Danny Findon-Kent – UI/UX Designer to scout and review 5 hotel websites; ones that hosted designs he was impressed by. Here are the 5 best hotel website designs.
Demimaisons are two small houses grouped together in a cottage in the village of Esneux in Belgium.
Why we like it: Danny really liked Demimaisons’ “unique hero banner which allows the user to choose between the two different locations. Background parallax items that move on scroll further bolster engagement and there are unique entrance animations throughout.”
The Vinha Boutique Hotel is located in the city of Porto, Portugal.
Why we like it: Danny was taken with the Vinha Boutique Hotel “luxury video and text animations. The website also hosts a truly unique hero banner navigation. I’m also a big fan of the off grid layout of imagery; it feels purposeful and sophisticated.”
The Damai resort hotel is situated in Bali, Indonesia.
Why we like it: Danny thought that The Damai “preloader animations take you into the website seamlessly. The site hosts a truly unique slider design with really nice motion that feels engaging and fresh. The high quality full screen video on the homepage is enticing and of super high quality too.”
In Athens, the capital of Greece, you’ll find our next, Monastik Suites.
Why we like it: Danny was impressed with the Monastik Suites’ “very modern contemporary off grid layout. It feels chic and confident. There are excellent entrance animations throughout which keeps a strong pulse pumping through your journey of the website. The logo cleverly inverts on top of imagery, maintaining visibility and reinforcing the brand too.”
Described by The Telegraph as Spain’s “best kept secret”, Landa is a 37-room hotel based in Burgos, Castilla y Léon, Spain.
Why we like it: Danny rated Landa’s “Very bright, and unusual colour palette. Cleverly, it adopts this whilst maintaining a luxury feel. This is hard to do with bright colours like red! The scroll animations and interactions work really well and complement the overall style of the website too.”
